SSI OPEN WATER DIVER
Your first certification is a license to learn more! Performance-based, after this course you will have the knowledge and skills to plan and execute a dive to a maximum of 18 metres with a certified buddy.
The course includes academic sessions on the basic theory of diving, skill practice in pool sessions, and four open water dives. The Open Water Diver course takes about three days, and then you can go on to gather more experience on fun dives or continue your education on our Specialty courses!
Our courses have a maximum of four students per instructor, and when conditions allow, you will do your practice on our home reef, Sepanggar Island, in front of our shop! This way you can check out the multicolored reef fish when taking your first breaths underwater.

SSI Open Water Diver Course ~
How long to complete in Sabah
We previously had used another company for our diving adventures. We were not very happy with their services so we decided to go with Like Scuba Center. Off the bat, they were very quick to respond to our concerns and questions. We did not want our daughter to get her open water diving training at Sapi Island. Like Scuba Center told us that the training would take place in a different location where it would not with be crowded with hundreds of tourists.
When we met Michael and Ronald, they were very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. My daughter had one on one attention from Michael during class. My husband and I sat in class with her. While we were there, we even learned a few new things from Michael. The llocation for the open water dives was perfect. It was on a beautiful and serene island. There were no tourist just divers. Just perfect, exactly how we envision it should be.
Our whole family are divers and from our experience, Michael is one of the best instructors we have seen. He is the reason why my daughter resolved her fears of diving and explore her love for the sport.. we are very appreciative of Michael and Ronald for such a wonderful experience.
